Future Workplace – how to create modern, future-proof workplaces?

Flexible, mobile, hybrid and safe – this is how modern workplaces are often described nowadays. Recent months have made the future workplace visions created for years a reality that is happening now, obliging employers to introduce remote work on a larger scale than before. Effects? Productivity growth recorded in over 63 percent organizations around the world in the third quarter of last year. Since we already know that it is worth it, now let’s think: how to create such future-proof jobs. Fujitsu experts provide valuable tips.

According to the study by Capgemini “The future of work: from remote to hybrid”, in the next two to three years as much as 75 percent of companies forecast that at least 30 percent of their employees will perform their work remotely, and approx. 30 percent of organizations expect the proportion of remote jobs to be around 70 percent. This situation was significantly influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced entrepreneurs to implement remote work where it was possible. Employees turned out to be efficient, gained greater flexibility and in most cases their comfort of work improved, and companies recorded a lot of savings related to real estate, daily office service and reduction of business trips.

Certainly, the remote or hybrid work model will stay with us for longer – also after the pandemic. Both entrepreneurs and employees have known the real benefits of introducing remote workplaces, so we can certainly say that this is one of the main elements building the image of the future of the workplace. However, it is worth emphasizing that in order to be able to create such an environment, it is necessary to create an efficient, mobile and – above all – safe IT infrastructure. Only if this condition is met, it is possible to effectively perform work from anywhere in the world –  says Adam Bielawski, Business Development Manager – Hybrid IT, Fujitsu.

The key word – flexibility

A future-proof workplace should allow you to perform standard activities from anywhere in the world using any device with Internet connectivity. Such possibilities ensure maximum flexibility and mobility, which is especially appreciated by employees. On the other hand, companies of this type enable the continuity of processes, regardless of the places where the people responsible for them are located.

Certainly, one of the most important solutions that provide such a great freedom of work is Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, i.e. desktop virtualization. Thanks to VDI, users have full access to the company’s resources, they can perform all operations within the scope of their duties on an ongoing basis, while maintaining all data on servers located internally – in the company. In Fujitsu, the VDI solution may consist of an integrated PRIMEFLEX system, built on the basis of configured and tested Fujitsu servers and dedicated software from VMware. Importantly, such solutions also ensure very high security, because even in the event of theft or loss of equipment, there is no risk of data loss or leakage – emphasizes Jarosław Cichoszewski, Presales Consultant, Fujitsu.

Sounds expensive or unavailable? Flexibility is a broad concept and covers many aspects that are important when building and maintaining a modern IT infrastructure. Solutions such as VDI – in Fujitsu’s offer are also available in a flexible financing model – Pay as you go, i.e. pay for what you use. Thanks to such a subscription model, many tools and systems are democratized, and organizations will have great opportunities to increase or decrease the scope of the solution depending on real needs.

Tailored for your needs

If we are talking about a workplace that is to respond to the dynamically changing needs of the organization, it is also necessary to pay attention to the data center. Data is one of the most important aspects of the company’s operations, so companies all over the world must take care of tools that will allow these resources to properly collect, process, archive and ensure the possibility of intelligent management.

Building a data center that will fully meet the needs of an enterprise is not an easy task – it requires a precise definition of needs, selection of appropriate tools and components that will work together, while ensuring maximum efficiency. Often companies decide to create such a data center infrastructure on their own, but it is worth knowing that there is also an alternative way – a shortcut. For years, Fujitsu has been offering its customers an integrated PRIMEFLEX system available in several variants – explains Adam Bielawski.

Such ready-made Data Center systems are much simpler and less time-consuming in the implementation process than infrastructures built on their own. What’s more, enterprises with this option do not need to have specialized knowledge and technical competences, because the partner is responsible for the configuration and implementation of the system – in this case: Fujitsu.

The topic of the future of the workplace is much more extensive, it carries a number of technological solutions that are worth getting to know now and implementing in the company’s operations. This will allow for faster development, entering a new level of functioning and will significantly bring you closer to success. We will certainly tell you more about Future Workplace on February 25, during a free virtual conference to which we are pleased to invite you – says Jarosław Cichoszewski.
