NDI to build a multi-storey car park for the Institute of Oncology
Next year, patients of the National Institute of Oncology (NIO) in Gliwice will be able to use a new multi-storey car park with 800 parking spaces. The facility is to be built by the Sopot-based companies, part of the NDI Group.
The contract was signed on Thursday, 28.01.2021. Starting from this date, the contractor has 72 weeks to obtain permits and perform all the planned works.
The multi-storey car park will cover an area of 19,600 m2 and have 800 parking spaces, including 32 for disabled persons. The internal road infrastructure within the Institute of Oncology will also be rebuilt and adapted to new conditions. The whole area will be equipped with a modern parking system to efficiently collect parking fees. Electric car charging stations will also be provided.
– We have got 36 weeks starting from the contract conclusion to complete all the projected works, make all the arrangements and obtain the final building permit, says Kamil Kasprzak, Project Director at the NDI Group. – Therefore, we plan starting construction works in October this year. The car park will be completed by the end of further 36 weeks, in June 2022.
The investment will make it possible to significantly improve the functionality of the car park and its operating conditions at the Institute of Oncology. Hundreds of patients arrive at the NIO every day and find it difficult to get their parking lot in the morning and afternoon rush hours. The planned park will accommodate more cars and its rebuilt internal infrastructure will improve their traffic flow within the Institute area.
