About Fundacja Dziecięca Fantazja

Fundacja Dziecięca Fantazja is a Public Benefit Organization which “lights up the lives” of children in Poland, who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses or life-limiting conditions, by making their fondest wishes and dreams come true.

Since 2003, with help from individual and corporate supporters, Fantazja has granted over 7000 wishes for children, aged 3-18, from all over Poland.

Hospitals, isolation from family and friends, painful treatments and exhausting rehabilitation – this is the everyday life of a sick child. The power of granting a wish brings much-needed joy to the child and their family, it gives them hope and the strength to keep fighting.

All dreams, big or small, are equally important. Children dream of toys, building blocks, bicycles, musical equipment, laptops, smart-phones and gaming consoles. Some children dream of new comfortable beds and furniture. Others would like to go to the seaside or the mountains, or travel to watch their favorite sports team and perhaps meet their idol. And these are just a few examples, because children’s dreams are limitless…

The pandemic has been especially difficult for our wish-children as many have compromised immune systems which make them more vulnerable to infection. The isolation and lack of interaction with others, combined with the difficulty in getting treatment and rehabilitation, has negatively impacted the children’s mental and physical well-being.

That’s why, in June 2020, Fantazja launched its charity platform www.wishsurfing.pl which greatly simplifies the method of granting a child’s wish. Through wishsurfing.pl you can easily surf through the profiles of Fantazja’s wish-children and make a donation of your choice towards their dream. The process is fully transparent, with no additional administration or payment processing costs for the donor. Donations are also tax deductible.

Fantazja then fulfills the child’s wish, which is delivered by courier to the child at home or in hospital, together with a personalized greeting card.

In addition to fulfilling children’s dreams, Fantazja provides many other meaningful programs for hundreds of less-fortunate children: Live with Dignity; Journeys for a Lifetime; Galas for Young Heroes; Spring Ball; Dream Night at the ZOO; Christmas Gala Party; Christmas Dinner Dance, and; HELP (HeroEs Learning Program) which enables youth who have survived a serious illness, or are living with a disability or chronic disease, to achieve a higher education with the possibility of entering the workforce upon graduation.
