Emission of dangerous gases under control: how do mobile combustion units support industrial plants?

Meeting stringent environmental standards is a serious challenge for the industry. It requires actions in many areas, such as changing technological processes to less energy-intensive ones, improving waste management and, finally, reducing emissions of substances harmful to the environment. A solution worth considering is degasification, which involves capturing and burning volatile organic compounds before they enter the atmosphere. The technology provided by Climbex is safe and environmentally friendly. At the same time, it is fast and very efficient, and, above all, available on easy-to-transport trailers, thanks to which dangerous gases are neutralized at the place of their creation or storage.

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) enter the environment as by-products of industrial processes. Some VOCs are very hazardous to health and harmful to the environment. These compounds are released, among others: when loading and unloading tanks in refineries, fuel depots, transshipment ports of petroleum compounds or pipelines, therefore degasification is performed especially in the chemical and petrochemical industries.

Installations where degasification technology can be used include: VPS (vapour processing system), tanks storage and raw material tanks for petroleum products, including large-size tanks up to 400,000 m3, process installations and columns, and means of transport of hazardous compounds. The technology also works in the case of pipelines, spherical tanks, VRU installations (for the disposal of hydrocarbon vapours) and refrigeration systems.

The degasification process allows for an almost complete reduction in the emission of dangerous gases, by at least 99.9%. During their combustion, no smoke or any odour is produced, and only water vapor and carbon dioxide are generated as a by-product. Gases and vapours that can be neutralized by mobile combustion units include class I, II, III petroleum products and mixtures of these compounds, including: ammonia, benzene, gasoline, butadiene, butane, ethanol, ethylene, N-hexane, hydrogen, pyrolysis gases and many others.

The mobile combustion units provided by Climbex are fully autonomous, thanks to their power generators, fuel oil tanks, evaporators and auxiliary devices. After proper connection to the plant installation, the unit is immediately ready for operation, and the gas combustion process itself is fully controlled.

Autonomous combustion units support industrial plants in the effective management of gas emissions and are part of the trend of searching for low-emission solutions, while eliminating the emerging hazardous compounds.
