Payair moves into Stara Drukarnia in Łódź
Payair Poland, the Polish branch of a Swedish-based FinTech company, has officially moved into their new office comprising over 400 sq m in Stara Drukarnia. The tenant was represented in the transaction by global real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield.
Payair Poland is an IT company providing FinTech solutions including a platform for internet and mobile payments and various payment solutions for financial institutions. It was founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2009. In 2019, it came eighth in the “Sweden Technology Fast 50” ranking, compiled by Deloitte. Payair Polandbegan operating on the Łódź market in September 2019.
-We are delighted that Payair has chosen Łódź for its overseas location. Not only is it good news for Łódź, which has gained a new company, but it is also a signal to other investors that our city has high-skilled professionals. We have gone the extra mile to meet the requirements of Payair Poland, an innovative IT company, which took occupancy of a temporary location before shifting to its permanent office in Stara Drukarnia,- says Anna Szurek, Junior Negotiator, Office Agency, Cushman & Wakefield.
-Payair has been delivering cutting-edge payment solutions for more than 10 years. Our employees are world-class FinTech specialists. We are strengthening our Łódź team by hiring people who are not afraid to take on challenges and to work in a high-tech environment. We chose Łódź largely on account of its attractive location, and investment and business potential. The city has a strong cultural and educational offer, and thereby a very attractive labour market, especially for IT experts. The only missing link was the office. We were looking for a place with a soul that would enable us to create a comfortable, creative atmosphere for our employees. Stara Drukarnia is such a place. Its post-industrial climate and character and the consistent concept of the entire project made us choose this location,– says Piotr Gorzechowski, Head of Payair Poland.
Stara Drukarnia office building is located in Łódź, 130 Gdańska Street. Built in the interwar period, it was a stocking factory and served as a military printing house. It was fully refurbished in 2015-2019 and now offers 4,700 sq m of office space.
-Stara Drukarnia is a perfect example of how a historic building can be repurposed. It used to be a military printing house, and now it is a class A office building. The building successfully blends history and modernity: the original red brick and cast-iron pillars with high-tech solutions. Central to this project was preserving the identity of this place – we called the building Stara Drukarnia (The Old Printing House) to refer to the history of the place. We have also created the Drukarnia Sztuki project (The Art Printing House) to support young artists and promote art in an office space. We are making space available to artists so that they can create and spread their wings here until the building is fully leased, – says Marta Zgłobicka, President of Stara Drukarnia.
