Innovations in 5G and the development of technology ecosystems within the reach of a smartphone. Interview with Jakub Borkowski – Business Development Director and 5G Wireless Solution Architect for CEE&Nordic Region Huawei

Huawei has recently launched Harmony OS. The most important feature of this system is that its purpose is not only limited to smartphones.

Harmony OS can run on all devices with as little as 128 KB of RAM. With this functionality, it becomes an ideal solution for solutions in the area of the Internet of Things.

When we created the system, we focused on simplicity and an intuitive system for connecting devices to each other – just bring your smart home device closer to your smartphone, for example, and you’re instantly connected.

Harmony OS is expected to be released on a wide range of third-party devices. This will make it possible to create an extensive ecosystem around the smartphone.

The system is also characterized by a high degree of versatility, which will allow to create applications for a large number of devices.

Huawei can boast of another success. Having recently introduced a new version of its own operating system, Harmony OS is a huge step in the development of mobility

Huawei continues to grow strongly globally despite the pandemic and the associated difficulties that most companies face. At present, we are emphasizing issues related to the construction of 5G networks, which is a leading theme in many market initiatives.

Gro companies are implementing 5G technology.  As its leader, we support companies in building networks not only in conventional terms – as commercial services made available on a mass scale by operators. We also cooperate with many industrial partners. We build 5G networks for private applications in factories, in ports, in mines. This is currently a very interesting pillar of our business development.

Harmony OS itself, is also a very big step in the development of the whole consumer solutions branch in the market. It should be remembered that Huawei not only introduces hardware with Harmony OS to the consumer market but creates entire ecosystems based on Harmony OS. The first cars using Harmony OS have also appeared on the market – so the spectrum of applications is extremely wide.

In what direction will Huawei’s projects develop next?

In the company’s core business of telecommunications industry solutions, Huawei continues to develop and build 5G networks around the world and conduct advanced research in this field.

Huawei is one of the leading global companies that devotes the largest percentage of its revenue to research and development activities, including the development of next-generation technologies, namely 6G, as well as projects and research combining artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data.
